I was in a sweet tooth room one day last week and noticed a player moved up over 1-million tokens in a matter of minutes and reported them but pogo never does anything to the ones using the cheat programs. I agree with Suz that it upsets me that we have to pay for HOG badges while others are getting them for free.
So true it is not enforced. Slots a player can set over 3 FULL days running cheat never needing to sleep? Put names on your friends list and you will see it happen day and night. You report it and Pogo attacks you for telling them. We paid dues and it said not allowed? I remember the warnings. My guess is it led to more people cheating. Figgs, I think Pogo is just throwing out excuses for the changes they are making in hopes they can convince us. I think they just make the noises to placate the ones who complain about the cheaters.
What kind of cheating did they do when they were working? I could care less about the JP spinner. Tokens at this point are literally worthless. I would much rather have them concentrating on fixing their many game problems.
What exactly has the spinner got to do with cheating? Or am I missing something here. I believe it has to do with cheaters triggering the jackpot spinner so often they unbalance the prize ratio. Thanks giving them more chances to potentially win gems and cash. The program just grabs the badges without making a move.
Pogo just thought that they were going to remove the JP spinner and nobody would notice. The disappearing JP spinner happed a long time ago, way back when Trizzle was released, long before the current group of cheaters. All the cash prizes are shown on the prize page, and if there was one person winning a lot of them it would be noticed. There are people that watch that list like a hawk. I can take them or leave them!!
I have won about gems on the spinners and a bunch of wall paper. The cheating that goes on in Word Whomp really infuriates whompers who love the game like me, who play fair and square, and Pogo Bowl the same thing applies. In Loopy Linquists there are 7 players at the top of the High Scores list…5 with , and 2 are a measly ,, ;!! That has been going on a for longer than I like to admit.
Ugly stuff, this!!! If I want tokens I go play Scrabble….. I decided to do them as my break in between the weekly ME badges. The major complaint I have with the new WCS is that the cities are not named when you are faced with choosing a new destination.
In order to find out what they are, you have to right click on the city;. Always liked the JP Spinner for the trumpets played loud and clear when you won something unusual. Thought it was cute and looked forward to the surprise winning. Playing those games with it gave you some kind of accomplishment when finished.
Not giving us tokens with the newer games is very disappointing to me. I challenge myself daily with how many more tokens I can obtain. Guess I should be glad that I reached over ,, for these kind of totals may not be seen again. There is no feeling of accomplishment as I get while clicking my heart out for those badges and getting the best score I can possibly get on my own merit.
I try not to think about it and go in my merry way. Yes I believe that Pogo should definitely put a stop to it and give us Club Members peace of mind knowing that they have dissolved a major problem that has been going on for such a long time.
I have enough wallpaper to cover the state of Virginia. If they are going to award wallpaper why not make it for the game the player is playing when they are awarded the prize? I believe that Pogo has only recently been entertaining ways of stopping cheaters and unfortunately the demise of jackpot spinners are one of those ways. And while free email accounts are available everywhere, I know gmail will limit how many new accounts can be made within a certain time frame with the same IP address.
Change is never easy. I miss Penguin Blocks. I miss knowing what challenges are being planned the month ahead. I miss the Deluxe Downloads. But I love the plethora of free badges now, and the Marathons and the not needing to mess around with my browsers every time Java updates because someone hacked it.
Which in turn will piss off almost all the true players who will have to go through this extra step. Not getting how one could be cheating with the spinner. I just want the game to work right and be playable. And as far as the cheating in other ways, it is beyond wrong but its not doing a thing to my game play and its for Pogo to handle. Who knows in the end but I pay no attention to chat and what others have for badges. I go in play games and that is.
Speaking of the spinner, I ended up winning a wallpaper the other day. What are they gaining? IMO, unless you have done every badge you have yourself or participated in getting it, you have no bragging rights. Stealing badges by not paying for them is wrong on every level. I guess they can come right back and start over unless an ip address can be blocked. Jackpot spin is fun but not a necessity like tokens are.
I guess I would not be a very good cheater as I have much better and more important things to do than to brag about my cheating. I only have trouble with that bingo game.
I have no sound at all on Pogo using Firefox on Windows 10 and only Pogo ……. And believe me, I have been all over this laptop looking for the problem. That lovely girl at EA offered to help me out with that problem too once we got my renewal sorted out. You figure it is flash or java, etc?? I am not going to get too worried about it bc it is about time I got a new laptop this one is 6 or 7 years old ……..
I will put it down to FF and an olde machine. Will ask my tech one of these days. I just roll with the flow adapting to changes as they come. The fact that I have lost the competitive streak is a big help. I seem to be in a cozy little cocoon controlling my own little world. They want to stay in business and we want them to. I just kind of go with the flow. I do appreciate the many free badges and marathons this past year. Change is uncomfortable, but change is inevitable. But the comments under the article are closed. I do not like that do not give points like the older games. World class solitarie HD is just one example. It seems they only way to get points is to buy badges. What happened to the tokens awarded when you finished a game of World Class Solitaire? Does the HTML format not allow for the awarding of tokens? I use tokens to purchase wardrobe items from the mini mall. Is HTML format the end tokens being awarded?
