Peacemaker Ryan Leston 4. Briefly, at the end of the trailer we see Captain Titus mow down the Tyranids with a deadly chainsaw. At the time of writing, it is unknown when Space Marine 2 will launch. If you missed the original game, it is not too late to hop into the action.
Just a few months ago, the PC version got an upgrade on Steam for its year anniversary. The first Space Marine was developed by Relic Entertainment. This time, the sequel will be put out by Saber Interactive, which has worked on games such as World War Z. It will be interesting to see what they have up its sleeve for Space Marine 2. Share Tweet Pin Share. This is a longstanding tradition in the ranks of Black Templars as they refuse to be disarmed until victory is achieved. From that same chain hangs what appears to be an emblem of the Inquisition, further cementing Titus' ties with the organisation.
It also hints the Inquisitor at the end of the first Space Marine didn't intend to prosecute Titus in the first place but merely went an extra step to reach a Space Marine whom he suspected to be a blank.
These individuals are highly prized by the Inquisition and if one happened to be an Astartes, it would be more than remarkable. Titus was an Ultramarine captain who was taken, subsequently cleared by the Inquisition and eventually reinstated in his chapter between the two games.
He then underwent the Rubicon Primaris procedure to become an even more powerful version of himself. Such a series of events unfolding around an inexplicable and unique Astartes was highly unlikely to go unnoticed by Roboute Guilliman, who wrote the Codex Astartes, the same book Leandros clings so hard to and can't look past its words.
If he's back in the sequel with other Primaris, it's highly possible he is surrounded by soldiers actually able to think for themselves as opposed to blindly following words without interpreting them. Furthermore, most Space Marines don't get to live for as many centuries as Titus before they get killed in action and years are plenty of time for Leandros to get his face blown off.
Saber Interactive Warhammer 40, Space Marine. If there was anything W40K fans took issue with in the original Space Marine, besides Leandros, it was the fact that Titus was a captain at a time when Cato Sicarius was supposed to have the post. At the time of Space Marine 2, it is assumed we are already in the period when Sevastus Acheran is the captain.
The trailer for SM 2 shows Titus wearing a lieutenant helmet, the new rank that was instated by Guilliman during the time of Indomitus Crusade and the arrival of Primaris. Technically, this is a demotion for Titus but since his rank no longer clashes with the existence of Sicarius or Acheran, he can become a canon character that was perhaps briefly the captain during Sicarius' Warp escapades.
This was eventually confirmed by the devs but the fans caught the hint much sooner. Before the Space Marines arrive in the trailer, you can see one Imperial Guardsman surviving the encounter with Tyranids and as the trio lands, he looks at them in awe. These closeup shots reveal he has purple eyes, which is an effect of Cadia having been so close to the Eye of Terror, and thus - the Warp.
Such an appearance is actually now normal for Cadians and does not indicate heresy or corruption. Thankfully, Leandros doesn't appear to be in the vicinity or the loyal soldier could be reported to the Inquisition.
One has to wonder whether the Codex Astartes would support such an action. Published: , 13 December
