Windows 7 update fails on shutdown




















I installed all of the windows updates and restarted the PC and it was working fine. Then after like 1 or 2 restarts the PC shows on shutdown "Installing 1 of 3 updates". No matter how many times the PC is restarted or shut down, it keeps attempting to install the 3 updates. I am not sure why this is occurring but I need it to stop. I agree with TheBrain, you should clear your Windows Update cache and try again.

You probably have an update file or 3 that corrupted during download. We have an older version of Great Plains installed and it uses some kind of Office Web components, because it does this it looks for the Office and Office updates and asks to install them. That is what was causing the repetition.

Answer 1 I tried everything until I figured it out. Answer 2 Now I did this after disconnecting all drives with exception to the system drive and then tried the system and it did not hang.
